Taking care of our bodies isn’t always a priority. With the hustle and bustle of our daily routines, it can be hard to make time for some self-pampering. If you keep tabs on the latest trends, you might ask yourself, about the services offered at Korean day spas, an increasingly popular option. Here’s what you need to know about one popular treatment.

What is a Korean Body Scrub?

Korean day spas aren’t like any of the traditional spas you’re used to, it’s a fresh and luxurious experience like no other, and so are the treatments. If you’re wondering what is a Korean body scrub, a Korean body scrub is an intense scrub which sheds away years of dry skin. This leaves your skin beautiful and baby soft, and even can make you feel ten pounds lighter!

Skin Prep

You’re going to prep your skin by soaking in a hot tub or steam room for at least a half an hour before the actual scrub. Sitting in the steam room will give you some added detoxification. After you’re relaxed and hydrated, you’ll be called into a room where your therapist will meet you.

Exfoliation

With a relaxed body, warm water is poured over your body to keep it moist. Your therapist will use exfoliators, mitts and refreshing ingredients like sugar, jojoba beads and apricot kernels to remove all of the built-up dead skin cells. This process can take up to an hour, and you’ll see the skin just shedding off in bits.

Relaxation

After the body exfoliation is done, you will have a towel placed over you to work out knots, massaging deep into your tissues. Some wonderful essential oils are added that put your body in a dream-like state. Warm water is poured over your body and your scalp is even exfoliated.

Results

Your results are incredibly lush skin that you probably haven’t felt, ever. Korean body scrubs are great for everyone. In addition to the benefit of incredible feeling skin, you get to relax and get the ultimate pampering. It’s a unique experience and one to set aside for yourself.
